Work Shift
Day (United States of America)Shift: FT 7am-3pm
The Certified Hemodialysis Technician works alongside the clinical team to provide patient care to people with end-stage renal disease. They monitor and disinfect the dialysis machine and water treatment systems. Provides direct care to dialysis patients.
Direct patient care with RN present to include initiating and discontinuing non-catheter treatments, educating patients and monitoring ongoing dialysis treatments to include patient vital signs, machine parameters, assessing for safety of the treatment and patient at all times.
Disinfection and sanitation of dialysis machines and water treatment systems. Drawing water samples and cultures/endotoxins.
Assemble and tear down dialysis machines. Inspects machines to ensure testing is performed and readiness of machines in dialysis unit.
Assess inventory, order supplies, clerical duties.
Performs other duties as assigned
Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
Certification for Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) or Hemodialysis Technician Certification (CHT) Upon Hire Required
Certified Nursing or Medical Assistant Upon Hire Preferred
Required Minimum Experience:
Minimum 2 years Dialysis Required
Minimum 5 years Dialysis Preferred
Required Minimum Skills:
Suitable clinical experience, dedication to patient care and safety, attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication, good interpersonal skills, venipuncture, ability to multitask, excellent teamwork
